Description

If you live in Malta and have an interest in spoken word, whether you are an amateur, storyteller, poet or musician, don’t miss the next Rima Spoken Word Workshop!

This workshop offers a unique opportunity to refine creative writing skills and explore the techniques of performance poetry, in collaboration with other poets and musicians passionate about contemporary issues such as: migration, exile, home, and community.  

Following this 3 days workshop, participants will be given the opportunity to present their work at the week long event ‘Utopian Nights -Inside the Border’, on Saturday the 4th August 2018 at Howard Gardens in Mdina.

 

Open to individuals (both Maltese and foreigners) who have experienced exile and migration in the past.

Participants will be selected at the discretion of the Rima team, with the number of participants being limited to just 10.

Bio

Fattima Mahdi is a British writer, mentor, lyricist and professional roller-skater. She uses both her love for writing and music to address socio-political issues, contemporary culture and mental health problems prevalent in society today, thereby igniting conscious thought and sparking debate in these areas. Fattima has lived and worked with young adults in Malta, South Africa and Panama. She is also the proud author of Love Don’t Come Easya book she wrote to highlight the ways in which we have socially evolved through modern technology and the effect this has on our perceptions of love.
